Students of the Keiser University Vietnam (KUV) Program will now have access to internship and employment opportunities within a prestigious global network of five-star hotels operated by Marriott International, which boasts over 8,900 hotels across 141 countries and territories. Managers and professionals from Marriott’s hotel system will also participate in training courses and career orientation programs tailored to Hospitality students at KUV. These key initiatives were formalized in a cooperation agreement signed on December 5, 2024, between KUV and Marriott International.
Founded in 1927, Marriott International is a U.S.-based multinational hospitality corporation, currently operating more than 30 leading global hotel brands. In Vietnam, the group marked a major milestone in September 2024 by officially integrating InterContinental Saigon—a prominent hotel in Ho Chi Minh City—into the Marriott family, alongside other brands under its umbrella, including JW Marriott, Sheraton, Renaissance, and more.
The signing ceremony took place at the JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon (formerly InterContinental Saigon before its acquisition by Marriott International), with the presence and support of Marriott International leaders and senior hotel managers from across Vietnam.
During the event, Mr. Mark Van Der Wielen, Vice President of Marriott Hotels in Vietnam and General Manager of JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon, encouraged students to embrace the journey of “begin – become – belong”: to think about where they start, what they want to become, and where they wish to belong. He emphasized that with the right direction, preparation, and actions—combined with humility and respect for people in all walks of life—students can go further than they ever imagined. This, he shared, is the principle that has guided his own 26-year journey with Marriott, and reflects the spirit that Marriott International stands for.
Through this partnership, KUV’s leadership is committed to expanding its programs and strengthening collaboration with Marriott International’s member units. The goal is to nurture a generation of young professionals with practical expertise and internationally recognized qualifications in the Hospitality industry, to meet Marriott’s talent needs not only in Vietnam but also across the global market. We believe this commitment will bring tangible value to both sides and contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s hospitality sector.
