The school congratulates Hai My and Nhu Y and the ViLePanion team. Wishing you both much success in your studies and more awards!

Let's learn about the project "ViLePanion - Better Companion Better Students"!

Inspiration

Research has shown that traditional learning methods were no longer effective before the Covid-19 pandemic, so our team set out to address this issue and realized that acquiring knowledge through a variety of new methods has a big impact on learning performance. Our team decided to create a website with features that allow students to learn in the most suitable style using all four core values: visual, auditory, read-write, and kinesthetic. With this website, our team hopes to improve and develop learners' skills, as well as learner satisfaction.

Function

The ViLePanion website provides a survey tool that helps assess the level of students based on each ability and learning style with the aim of providing appropriate learning style arrangement results. Students can study and learn materials from lecturers on the website that have been arranged based on the survey assessment results.

Communication

Our team uses HTML and CSS tools to code the front-end and PHP and SQL tools for the back-end.

The challenges our team faced

The biggest problem our team encountered was the first time we worked together. We encountered some unnecessary misunderstandings and internal difficulties in analyzing the opinions of our members. In addition, during the process of drafting ideas, there were many times when our team got stuck and could not find a solution, leading to many unfinished plans having to be canceled.

Results that our team is proud of

Taking advantage of the two design tools Figma and Powtoon that our team had just learned and researched in the early stages of the competition, our team completed the first website prototype ahead of schedule.

Lessons & experiences after the competition

Together, our team learned how to use Figma and Powtoon, two tools that no one in our team had ever used before joining PlutoHacks, to design prototypes and create presentation videos. Additionally, PHP was a new programming language that two members of our team (Mei and Andrea) learned for the first time.

Upcoming plans for the ViLePanion website

With the goal of helping with future learning, our team plans to build a mobile version and add more features to increase interaction between teachers and students (eg: comment function after each lecture so that students can ask questions and receive answers from teachers). In addition, the ViLePanion website will be upgraded to an Electronic Contact Book to help parents check and monitor their students' learning, scores, deadlines, and homework.

Build with tools:

  • css
  • figma
  • html5
  • php
  • PowerToon
  • premiere
