KUV Elite Scholarship Policy (for New Students)

1. Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Graduated from high school or an equivalent program;
  • Achieved a GPA of 9.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale) in either the full academic year or the first semester of Grade 12 (or equivalent GPA if graduated from an international or non-traditional program);
  • Possess a valid English proficiency certificate equivalent to IELTS 7.0 or higher (no band score below 6.0);
  • Have participated in individual or group projects that contributed to their school or community, recognized with awards/certificates/commendations; or have won third prize or higher at the city level in academic, sports, arts, or applied science competitions.

2. Selection process

Round 1: Submit the application package and an English essay based on the prompt provided by the Scholarship Committee.

The application documents include:

  • Application form;
  • Notarized copy of High School Graduation Diploma;
  • Notarized copy of High School Academic Transcript;
  • Notarized copy of ID/Passport (passport must be valid for at least 06 months if the applicant is an international student);
  • Valid English proficiency certificate;
  • Two 4×6 ID photos (taken within the past 06 months);

Supporting documents (optional but encouraged):

  • Letter of recommendation (with English translation if originally in Vietnamese) from a teacher or an organization the student has participated or collaborated with;
  • Certificates or awards related to student activities or achievements.

Submission method: Hard copies of the application and essay must be submitted in person to the Admissions Office – KUV International Training Center, Hanoi.

Note: Essays with a plagiarism rate exceeding 3% will be disqualified.

Round 2: Interview in English with the Scholarship Committee

3. Scholarship value and validity

  • The scholarship amount is determined based on the results of both rounds and will not exceed 80% of the tuition for 39 major-specific credits;
  • Applicable only for full-time students;
  • The scholarship is valid for up to 5 months from the official announcement date. If the student does not complete enrollment within this timeframe, the scholarship will be revoked;
  • This scholarship will be reviewed annually based on the renewal conditions outlined in Section 5.

Scholarships are not applicable for:

  • Retaking courses;
  • Taking additional courses outside of the registered major’s curriculum.

4. Number of scholarships

Each intake, 10 KUV Elite Scholarships will be awarded to the top 10 students with the best results from the two rounds.

Note: Students can apply for other scholarships such as KUV Leadership and KUV Global at the same time. The Committee will evaluate and award the scholarship that best matches each applicant’s strengths.
